Oddero Barolo 2010

Product Description

93WS - #39 in Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2014!

Wine Spectator's Highly Recommended (December 2014)!

"Lushly textured, this red cuts a rich swath of spicy plum and cherry flavors, with accents of leather and tobacco, until the beefy tannins corral all the elements on the finish. Balanced on the tannic side, this should find equilibrium with time. Best from 2018 through 2033." - Wine Spectator, 93 points, Highly Recommended!

"Brilliant garnet red color developing warm shades with the passing of time. Unique scent, very pleasant, intense and ethereal, very persistent, sometimes spicy, with hints of truffle, licorice and dried flowers. Dry, with strong considerable tannins." - Winery

100% Nebbiolo. The grapes from different vineyards were aged separately in Austrian oak barrels and casks for 30 months, and then assembled in the spring, bottled in late summer and aged in the bottle before release for 6 months.

The Oddero winery was founded in 1878, in the area of Santa Maria, a hamlet of La Morra. It is one of the oldest producers of Barolo, a family that has kept the distinctive traditional style of winemaking for over a century. Over the generations, the Oddero family has gradually expanded its vineyards to today's impressive 60 hectares, many of which lie in the illustrious Barolo vineyards of Brunate, Rocche di Castiglione, Villero and Mondoca di Bussia. Since 2001, with the help of young and talented winemaker Luca Vaglio, Oddero winery has become one of the leading producers in Barolo.
